Lavish Praise for Loserthink    “They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but they never tell you why. So I went ahead and judged it. Looks great!” – Juan Variable   “Don’t think of this book as something you ‘read.’ Think of it as ‘survival.’ And you want to survive, don’t you?” – M. Wordthinker   “If you love this book, you are probably part of a clandestine global conspiracy to control the world. You’ll probably deny it, but I know what you are thinking.” – Reed Mines   “The simplest explanation for why you will love this book is that it is the best book in the world. Duh. Simple.” – Sir William of Ockham   “This is the only book I have ever read. I highly recommend it because I can’t imagine how any other book could be better.” – Noah Mashnashun   “There are many similarities between this book and the Holy Bible. For example, they both use words. I’m not saying the author of this book is a deity, but obviously things are heading in that direction.”  – Matthew, Mark, John   “I don’t recommend this book, but only because I’m an unsuccessful author marinating in my hatred for those who have succeeded. If I ever write a book, imagine how great it would be!” – A. Badriter Scott Adams is the creator of Dilbert, one of the most popular comic strips of all time. He has been a full-time cartoonist since 1995, after 16 years as a technology worker for companies like Crocker National Bank and Pacific Bell. His many bestsellers include The Dilbert Principle, Dogbert's Top Secret Management Handbook, How To Fail At Almost Everything And Still Win Big, and Win Bigly. He is co-founder of WhenHub. He lives outside of San Francisco.

What is loserthink?

If you've been on social media lately, or turned on your TV, you may have noticed there are a lot of dumb ideas floating around out there.

"We know when history will repeat and when it won't."
"We can tell the difference between evidence and coincidences."
"The simplest explanation is usually true."
"Stay in your channel."

Wrong, wrong, dangerous, and wrong!

These false beliefs are the result of what Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic and a lifelong student of group psychology, calls loserthink. Loserthink is the epidemic of sneaky mental habits trapping its victims in their own bubbles of reality. Even the smartest and most educated among us can slip into its seductive grasp. If we're not careful, loserthink would have us believe that every Trump supporter is a bigoted racist, addicts should be responsible for fixing the opioid epidemic, any form of gun control is a slippery slope to full confiscation, and that your relationship fell apart simply because you chewed with your mouth open.

This book will teach you how to spot and avoid loserthink before it starts to influence you--and will give you scripts to respond when it's being brandished against you, whether by well-intentioned friends, strangers on the internet, or political pundits. You'll learn the best defense against emotionally powerful but vacuous arguments and how to spot the underlying causes of loserthink, like the inability to get ego out of your decisions, thinking with words instead of reasons, failing to imagine alternative explanations, and making too much of coincidences.

Using his patented blend of humor and social satire, along with candid examples of falling prey to loserthink from his own past, Adams offers elegant analytical frameworks for clear thinking, evoking the mental models of scientists, economists, entrepreneurs, and artists.

Your bubble of reality doesn't have to be a prison. This book will show you how to break free--and, what's more, to be among the most perceptive and respected thinkers in every conversation.

Stalk Her Free Pdf

ISBN: B07XM8P999
Title: Stalk Her Pdf
As president of The Devil’s Right Hand MC, I could get whatever I wanted.Drugs, women, money, but most of all power.

And it’s the latter I was most interested in, most focused on acquiring. Because without that, you’re nothing. And in the town of Copperhead, Colorado, I had no problem making people bend to my will.

I ran my club with an iron fist, and what we did wasn’t exactly legal, but then again the kind of money we wanted, you didn’t get by following the rules.

So back-alley deals, corrupt situations, blackmail, and just being a downright bastard… that’s what the MC was known for.

That’s what I was known for. Because fear got you what you wanted.

But then she came into my life—this sweet, fresh, and pretty young thing working at one of the bars the MC owned. I should’ve stayed away, should’ve kept my distance, because she was a liability and a distraction I sure as hell didn’t need.

Yet all it took was that one encounter, that one moment for her to cross my path, and I was completely obsessed with her.

I found myself doing anything and everything to get information on her, to find out who she was, where she lived... why she was so far away from home.

So I followed.

But her life wasn’t as innocent and vulnerable as she wanted people to think. She had secrets. She had a past. One she was running from.

But I wasn’t into a fairytale life or ending. That was never in the cards for me.

Because when it came to her, I knew I’d do anything to make her mine.

Poppy and Butcher Butcher and Poppy. They had a violent road to each other. This was a bit different for me. Butcher is really rough around the edges, but, his love for Poppy is fierce. I so enjoyed the epilogue!Amazing, hot, riveting read! I loved, loved, loved Poppy and Butcher! Poppy is one of my favorite female characters. She is strong, fierce and determined. She hasn't let her life destroy her spirit. Butcher knows the moment he lays eyes on her that she is now the center of his universe. He does a little light stalking and thank goodness that he did. He is close so he is in the right place to help when her past comes calling. She doesn't fight the pull she feels to him too long. She listens to her instincts like anyone who grew up in her situation would. Butcher is just perfect, I love him so much! He is strong and fierce, protective but he doesn't steamroll Poppy. He understands her from the beginning and doesn't overpower her physically or emotionally. Just an amazing, hot, riveting read from the always awesome Jenika Snow!Awesome Another well written obsessed alpha AF who just wants his possibly forever to be safe. It hit on a bunch of feels, both good and bad, but that’s what a gifted author does, and she does it very well. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Thick is sure to become a classic.”
The New York Times Book Review

Smart, humorous, and strikingly original essays by one of “America’s most bracing thinkers on race, gender, and capitalism of our time” (Rebecca Traister)

In these eight piercing explorations on beauty, media, money, and more, Tressie McMillan Cottom—award-winning professor and acclaimed author of Lower Ed—embraces her venerated role as a purveyor of wit, wisdom, and Black Twitter snark about all that is right and much that is wrong with this thing we call society.

Ideas and identity fuse effortlessly in this vibrant collection that on bookshelves is just as at home alongside Rebecca Solnit and bell hooks as it is beside Jeff Chang and Janet Mock. It also fills an important void on those very shelves: a modern black American feminist voice waxing poetic on self and society, serving up a healthy portion of clever prose and southern aphorisms as she covers everything from Saturday Night Live, LinkedIn, and BBQ Becky to sexual violence, infant mortality, and Trump rallies. Thick speaks fearlessly to a range of topics and is far more genre-bending than a typical compendium of personal essays.

An intrepid intellectual force hailed by the likes of Trevor Noah, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Oprah, Tressie McMillan Cottom is “among America’s most bracing thinkers on race, gender, and capitalism of our time” (Rebecca Traister). This stunning debut collection—in all its intersectional glory—mines for meaning in places many of us miss, and reveals precisely how the political, the social, and the personal are almost always one and the same.

Powerful and important book This book of essays is stunning and stellar and needed during this era. Dr. Cottom exposes the hard truth and speaks to power and the realities of what has and has not changed over time in the U.S. I highly recommend the book.Read This and Enjoy Your Discomfort I bought this book immediately after seeing the author on The Daily Show (episode of 1/15/19) and devoured it in two days. These essays deftly weave data and personal narrative in such a compelling way that you find yourself agreeing with every argument she makes. They are not easy to read from an emotional standpoint, but they are supremely enjoyable to read from a literary one. McMillan-Cotton's voice is one you want to listen to. Even as you may cringe at the subject matter (and your complicity in it).Essential! I cried real tears on a subway just reading Tressie McMillan Cottom's introduction to this book. Then cried harder at home, when I dug into the essays. And then laughed out loud as I polished off the last one, and was sad that it was already over. Tressie is a treasure and this collection is a gem. She connects, in every meaning of the word--the book is packed with lines that hit like a gut punch and overflowing with real human emotion. You won't be disappointed.

Outer Order, Inner Calm Free Pdf

ISBN: 1984822802
Title: Outer Order, Inner Calm Pdf Declutter and Organize to Make More Room for Happiness
Author: Gretchen Rubin
Published Date: 2019-03-05
Page: 208

Accolades and Praise for GRETCHEN RUBIN #1 New York Times bestselling author Member of Oprah’s SuperSoul 100   “Aided by her formidable intelligence and willingness to try anything, she spent a year road-testing every theory about happiness she could get her hands on, using her own life as the road.” —TIME   “Once you’ve read Gretchen Rubin’s tale of a year spent searching for satisfaction, you’ll want to start your own happiness project and get your friends and family to join you. This is the rare book that will make you both smile and think—often on the same page.”  —Daniel H. Pink, Drive   “Rubin had learned that there was a close correlation between habits and happiness, so she figured out how we form them, use them, and change them. Once I came to understand habits as harnessing our own laziness—making a habit frees you from decision-making, which you can use to your advantage—my relationship to them changed permanently.” —The New Yorker   “Lays out life’s essential goals… serves as a kind of detailed instruction manual on how to achieve them.”  —New York Times Book Review    “If anyone can help us stop procrastinating, start exercising or get organized, it’s Gretchen Rubin. The happiness guru takes a sledgehammer to old-fashioned notions about change.” —Parade “Gretchen Rubin combines deep research and observations from her own life to explain how habits emerge and—more important—how they can change. It’s indispensable for anyone hoping to overhaul how they (almost unthinkingly) behave.” —Charles Duhigg, The Power of Habit   “Gretchen Rubin is a writer after my own heart—seriously brilliant, very warm, and funny. I think she’s amazing.” —Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird and Help, Thanks, Wow “Gretchen Rubin’s superpower is curiosity… Weaving together research, unforgettable examples, and her brilliant insight, Better Than Before is a force for real change.” —BrenĂ© Brown, Dare to Lead and Daring Greatly   “With her characteristic mix of delightful charm, thoughtful research, and insightful advice… Gretchen Rubin shows how to add fun, joy, and harmony to your home life.” —Susan Cain, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking GRETCHEN RUBIN is one of the most thought-provoking and influential writers on the linked subjects of habits, happiness, and human nature. She's the author of many books, including the blockbuster New York Times bestsellers The Four Tendencies, Better Than Before, and The Happiness Project. A member of Oprah's SuperSoul 100, Rubin has an enormous following, in print and online; her books have sold more than three million copies worldwide, in more than 35 languages, and on her popular daily blog, gretchenrubin.com, she reports on her adventures in pursuit of habits and happiness. She also has a top-ranked, award-winning podcast, Happier with Gretchen Rubin. Rubin started her career in law, and was clerking for Justice Sandra Day O'Connor when she realized she wanted to be a writer. She lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.

For most of us, outer order contributes to inner calm. And for most of us, a rigid, one-size-fits-all solution doesn't work.

The fact is, when we tailor our approach to suit our own particular challenges and habits, we're then able to create the order that will make our lives happier, healthier, more productive, and more creative.

Gretchen Rubin has found that getting control of our stuff makes us feel more in control of our lives. By getting rid of things we don't use, don't need, or don't love, we free our minds (and our shelves) for what we truly value.

With a sense of fun, and a clear idea of what's realistic for most people, Gretchen Rubin suggests dozens of manageable steps for creating a more serene, orderly environment—one that helps us to create the lives we want.
